CCC Vice Presidents are a most valuable source of financial and moral support to the Club. Last year the VPs met for lunches on six occasions, five of which were held in the Bell and the other was a curry lunch in the Club pavilion.

The lunches are very sociable affairs and are certainly not dry!! The VPs are a very lively group from all walks of life so there is quite a bit of banter, leg pulling and joke telling. After lunch the VPs decamp to the Cricket Club to watch the game and support the Club further by bringing quite a bit of trade to the Club bar! I have it on good authority from the past 1st XI Captain, George Miller, that the arrival of the VPs at the ground really gives the team a lift, especially when there is so much vocal encouragement!!

The VPs also get the opportunity to roll back the years when the Chairman’s XI is selected – last year quite a few donned their whites again to reveal their long hidden (lost!) talents.

In 2022 the VPs net donation to the Club was nearly £1500 which was increased by being able to claim money back through the Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) scheme. Seventeen VPs made contributions to the Club in 2014 and we are deeply indebted to:

This year I have over 30 names on my VPs list so I hope we will do much better in 2023!!
