A friendly game on a sultry afternoon with many of the Chearsley side playing their first or second games of senior cricket - a warm welcome to Jamie 'Badger' Cummings, Sam Philip and Connor Kelly. A strong Kites side batted first and scored 230 off their 35 overs. Highlights from the Chearsley side included two very tidy spells of bowling from Kit Chantrey (8 overs, 1 wicket for 24 runs), an excellent spell from Tom Willoughby (8 overs, 2 wickets for 34 runs) and a great catch from Sam Philip on debut at square leg.
In reply, Vinnie Connolly anchored the innings with 78 (not out), supported by handy knocks from father and son Justin and Kit Chantrey, scoring aggressive 27 and 20s respectively. Other highlights included some lusty clubbing from Connor Kelly (10) on debut, but Chearsley were all out for 184.
